CROSSING THE WALL: 20 PROFILES OF INDONESIAN MURAL ARTISTS
Since the beginning, mural and graffiti artists have maintained a strong identity. Signs of metamorphosis and symbols of protest movements are woven throughout their artwork. For muralists who started their creative work on the street, public places double as galleries where whole communities can see their work on display. The idealism, beauty and depth of the issues and messages in each piece are diverse, and each muralist becomes identified with these characteristics.
By creating quality paint that artists rely on, Mowilex is inadvertently present in nearly 80% of the pieces by mural artists throughout Indonesia. With the book Crossing the Wall, written by select art curators from Kepustakaan Popular Gramedia, Mowilex celebrates the muralists of Indonesia.
